Singer Dhee's new track, titled 'Vari Vari,' released on Friday. The song video, which is out on YouTube, has amassed around 16,000 views so far. Dhee herself, Santhosh Narayanan and Vivek serve as the songwriters, whereas the track has lyrics by Vivek.
In the official description for the song, Dhee wrote, "'Vari Vari' is about someone or something that’s gone and isn’t around anymore, something that’s been lost. By the end, it feels like the whole song is this search for yourself that you might’ve lost along the way, like your inner child."
Perhaps, this explains why a video where a child sings the track has made a big impression on composer Santhosh Narayanan. Revealing that he is sharing the video with "the blessings" of the child's parents on his social media, Santhosh wrote, "We got the best review for 'Vari Vari' from God’s little magical creation."
In the video, a baby can be heard crying and a boy lying next to the baby starts to sing the said track. Soon, the baby stops crying, and an older adult asks the boy which song it is and whether he liked it. The boy nods in acknowledgement, conveying his fondness for the song. When the adult asks why the boy finds the song 'good,' the latter says, "Let us see".
'Vari Vari' is Dhee's is second back-to-back release this year. Recently, her track 'Ancient Seed,' with Santhosh Narayanan as a collaborator, came out. The singer is also known for tracks such as ‘Enjoy Enjaami’ and ‘Rowdy Baby'.
Dhee was part of an intense debate recently, after netizens compared her original version of 'Muththa Mazhai' unfavourably with Chinmayi Sripaada's rendition of it at the Thug Life audio launch.
