As actor Vijay is gearing up to face his very first assembly elections as the lead of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam this Wednesday, actor Sibi Sathyaraj has showered his love for the actor-turned-politician, penning a note as his fan and supporter.
Starting the note with "Dear Vijay Anna", Sibi recalled his first interaction with Vijay. "It was on the 3rd of October, 1993. I first met you when you had come along with SAC Sir and Captain Vijayakanth Uncle to attend the birthday celebration of Appa at Pollachi Shakthi Hotel Terrace. Little did I know that this unassuming young man was going to win millions of hearts, including mine, and become a force to be reckoned with in the future!"
On Vijay chosing to let go of his acting career, he wrote, "Even though we still can't come to terms with the fact that you are not going to act anymore, I, as a fan, actor, brother, and friend, feel it is important to respect your decision to take a new path and will always stand by you."
Sibi then shared the impact Vijay has had in his life all these years. "Over the years, you have directly or indirectly played a major part in my life, and I'm sure the same is true for millions of your fans. Many of my closest friendships were formed because we were united by our love for you," he penned, adding that Vijay was a catalyst in even his marriage. "The first date with my then-lover-turned-wife, Revathi, was watching Priyamanavale at Albert Theatre on 20-11-2000."
VijayIt is known that Sibi's father, actor Sathyaraj, has a different political ideology, opposing Vijay. "The heated yet healthy arguments and debates I've had were often while defending you against loved ones who admired your respectable and mighty competitors. I enjoyed your victories as much as my own," Sibi wrote, addressing the ideological difference with his father.
On his relationship with Vijay, he continued, "The personal moments I got to spend with you over the years – especially when we came over to your place for dinner; when you attended the launch ceremony of my film Lee; the calls I received from you wishing me success for some of my films; and the immediate responses I get whenever I call or text you – are the most cherished memories of my life. Even though I come from a cinema background, you were a major inspiration for me to enter the world of cinema. Your films, though often seen as pure entertainment, taught me the value of true love, friendship, confidence, self-respect, decisiveness, and much more. Your kutti stories offered deeper insights into life than most self-help literature ever could."
Sibi then quoted Vijay's dialogue, "Oru vaati mudivu panna, en pecha naane ketka maaten," and concluded by writing, "We've come to realise over the years that this is not just movie dialogue but the very philosophy you live by and inspire us to do the same! Thank you for directly or indirectly inspiring us and for keeping us entertained and happy for over the last 33 years, dear Anna. We will always cherish the wonderful celluloid moments you have given us. Go win; we're there for you."
