TN 2026 writer-actor Thambi Ramaiah on Jana Nayagan leak: 'Anybody would condemn…'

TN 2026, which hit theatres on April 10, is a political satire on film stars becoming politicians, with an alleged jibe at actor Vijay

Thambi Ramaiah is currently busy touring cities in Tamil Nadu promoting his son, Umapathy Ramaiah's, directorial, TN 2026, which was written by him. At one such theatre, he was asked by the press about the recent Jana Nayagan leak. He said, "Anybody could condemn the act. Imagine if a wild pig destroys a harvest obtained through sheer hard work. How would the farmer feel? That's how the makers of Jana Nayagan must be feeling right now."

Starring Natty Natraj in the lead role, TN 2026, which hit theatres on April 10, is a political satire on film stars becoming politicians, with an alleged jibe at actor Vijay. Prior to its release, the film received flak from fans of Vijay and supporters of his party, TVK, for mocking the actor's political entry. Thambi Ramaiah's comments come at such a time.

Thambi Ramaiah also stars in the film alongside Ilavarasu, MS Bhaskar, Shritta Rao, Chandini Tamilarasan, Viji Chandrasekar, Vadivukkarasi, Redin Kingsley, John Vijay, Aadukalam Naren, VJ Andrews, Sathyan, and Jawa Sunderasan, among others. TN 2026 is produced by Kannan Ravi under his Kannan Ravi Groups banner, with Deepak Ravi serving as a co-producer.

Late on April 9, a portion of the film was found to be leaked online. Later, it was discovered that the entire film was leaked. Film personalities across Tamil and Telugu film fraternities expressed their support for Jana Nayagan's makers and condemned the actions of the perpetrators.

Helmed by H Vinoth, Jana Nayagan also stars Mamitha Baiju, Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, Priyamani and Gautham Vasudev Menon, among others.
