Back in January, Ravi Arasu announced that he is working on his next directorial after exiting Vishal's Magudam. On Monday, the director announced that he will make the announcement on May 27.

Taking to X, he wrote, "Hello, friends and my well-wishers. Something very special is gearing up. An exciting announcement of my next project is coming on May 27th. INTHA VARREN CHELLAKUTTIES." (sic)

The filmmaker, who had worked on Vishal's 35th film Magudam, exited the project last year following creative differences with the actor. Later, Vishal himself stepped in to helm the actioner, marking his directorial debut. Ravi Arasu is now credited with the story for the film. Magudam wrapped filming in November 2025, with a release date announcement awaited from the makers.

While teasing his next directorial venture, Ravi Arasu wrote on X in January, "Thank you, everyone, for your warm wishes, love and respect towards me. All your trust and value in me give more motivation and responsibility to do bigger things, and I will work hard to achieve them. My next terrific directorial announcement is soon." (sic)

Ravi Arasu is known for Eetti. He has also helmed the 2022 GV Prakash starrer Ayngaran. Meanwhile, in 2020, it was announced that he is directing a film with Shivarajkumar in the lead, titled RDX. However, details about the development of the film are scant, and the project hasn't materialised so far.
