The backlash from the film fraternity against the leak of Jana Nayagan continues to grow. More stars from outside Tamil cinema started to call it out alongside those within the industry. Earlier this Saturday, Rishab Shetty wrote, "Cinema is built on passion, dreams, and love. Countless people work tirelessly to bring entertainment to audiences. When someone tries to tamper with that effort, even in the smallest way, it deeply affects everyone involved. The unfortunate leak of Jana Nayagan is a serious and unacceptable act."
The Kantara star asked people not to spread the leaked print of the film, directed by H Vinoth. "Do not kill the strength to give you many more cinemas tomorrow. I stand in solidarity with the entire team and KVN Productions during this difficult time. Protect our cinema family," Rishab wrote.
On the other hand, Arya called the Jana Nayagan leak completely "unacceptable" and "an act of betrayal". The actor went on to add, "Can't understand why would anybody want to be this cruel and brutal."
Meanwhile, Bhagyashri Borse, who recently made her Tamil debut with Kaantha, opposite Dulquer Salmaan. Sharing KVN Productions' notice, cautioning users of spreading the leaked print, Bhagyashri wrote, "A lot of effort goes into making a film, all for one thing- the love of our dearest audience. It's disheartening to witness acts that undermine the hard work of the artists and the entire crew. let us stand together and show our support. Say No To Piracy."
At the same time, actor Varun Tej called it an "unacceptable" situation. "Leaking unreleased content is not entertainment, it’s outright theft and a complete betrayal of the hard work and trust of an entire team. Those responsible should be identified and held accountable. There must be consequences for actions like this. Please don’t support this cowardly act," Varun added.
Meanwhile, Ken Karunaas, who recently made his debut as a lead actor and director with Youth, wrote, "Every film carries dreams, sacrifices, hard work and the livelihood of many families. What happened to Jana Nayagan is deeply unfair. The person responsible must be held accountable to everyone affected. Justice must be served."
In the meantime, Sapta Sagaradaache Ello fame director Hemanth M Rao wrote, "Making a film is a massive, costly undertaking. Everyone on set knows that the months of passion and hard work are meant for one thing: the big screen. It is heartbreaking and infuriating that someone would sabotage the film like this. I stand with KVN Productions in complete solidarity. Please do not share clips or leaked scenes. I hope the ones responsible are dealt very severely."
