GV Prakash Kumar and Saindhavi's divorce finalised by Chennai Family Court

Actor composer GV Prakash Kumar and singer Saindhavi got married in 2013, and have collaborated on multiple film soundtracks

The Chennai Family Court has finalised the divorce of GV Prakash Kumar and Saindhavi, according to sources. The couple got married in 2013 and announced that they are filing for a divorce in 2024.

The couple began their romantic relationship during their school days and got married after a decade. After the announcement of their seperation, Saindhavi performed at GV Prakash's concert in Malaysia.

While announcing their seperation through social media, on May 12, 2024, the couple wrote that the reason for their seperation was, "For the sake of our mental peace and betterment while preserving mutual respect for each other."

GV Prakash made his debut as a composer in 2006 with Veyil. Meanwhile, Saindhavi made her debut as a singer with Anniyan, where she sang 'Andangaka Kondakari', composed by Harris Jayaraj. But it wasn't until 2010, that both of them collaborated on a film. Saindhavi sang for the song 'Aaruyire Aaruyire' from Madharasapattinam, for which GV Prakash was the composer. They went on to collaborate in albums for films like Mayakkam Enna, Udhayam NH4, Thalaivaa, Raja Rani, Trisha Illana Nayanthara, and Theri amongst others.
