Mohanlal mourns the victims of Karur stampede

A political rally held, at Karur, by actor Vijay and his political party TVK proved to be fatal for 40 people, with more than 60 people being injured

Mohanlal took to social media to condole the victims of the stampede that happened in Karur. At a political rally held at the town, by actor-politician Vijay's political party TVK, a stampede turned fatal for 40 people and caused injuries for more than 60 people.

Taking to his X handle, the actor wrote, "Heartfelt prayers for the families who lost loved ones in the tragic Karur stampede. Wishing strength and a speedy recovery to the injured."

The tragedy unfolded in the late hours of September 27, which also left several in the crowd unconscious. Several members of the film fraternity, including Mammootty, Kamal Haasan, and Rajinikanth, took their social media handles to mourn the victims of the tragedy.

The rally is actor-politician Vijay's latest in his campaign for the 2026 Tamil Nadu state assembly elections.
