Actor Dinesh, who was recently seen in Thandakaaranyam along with Kalaiyarasan, was the subject of online discussion with his new hairstyle. With social media users expressing mixed reactions to it, Dinesh has responded to the comments online.

Speaking at a recent interview, Dinesh revealed that the new hairstyle was for his role in Pa Ranjith's Vettuvam which is currently in production. "Yes, I saw both sides of the reaction. There were a few people who commented on it saying expectations vs reality. Some said it looked 'mass'. I didn't do much for it. It came naturally. This is for Vettuvam and I let my hair grow for the film," he revealed.

Sharing more details regarding the film, he said, "I play a character called Nandan. That's all I can reveal for now. This film be a surprise for all audiences. I felt the same reaction while working on it. This will be one of Ranjith sir's best films yet."

Starring Arya and Dinesh, Vettuvam is reportedly about a rural gangster who turns himself to the police in order to avoid his enemies only to find out that the prison system is worse. The first look poster of the film was released three years back at the Cannes Film Festival.

The film's production had recently halted due to the demise of stuntman Mohan Raj who passed away while performing a car-related stunt during shoot. Keezhaiyur law enforcement filed a case against Ranjith and others under IPC sections associated with negligence-induced death. The director later received his bail. Further details about the film are yet to be revealed.

Thandakaaranyam, helmed by Athiyan Aathirai, was released on September 19. It also stars Rythvika, Vinsu Sam, Shabeer Kallarakkal, Muthukumar, Aruldoss, Saranya Ravichandran and Bala Saravanan.

Behind the camera, Justin Prabhakaran scores the music, with lyrics penned by Umadevi and Thanikodi. Pratheep Kaliraja serves as the cinematographer, Selva RK handles editing, and T Ramalingam is in charge of art direction.
