Robo Shankar passed away in the late hours of September 18 after battling severe health issues

Venkat Prabhu, Shanthnu Bhagyaraj, and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar took to social media to mourn over the loss of actor-comedian Robo Shankar. The actor passed away at 08:30 pm on September 18 after battling severe health issues.

Taking to X, Venkat Prabhu wrote, " RIP Robo Shankar, gone too soon my friend. Deepest condolences to family and friends."

Meanwhile, Shanthnu wrote, "RIP robo shankar brother."

Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, who shared screenspace with Robo Shankar in Maari 2, wrote shared, "I spoke to him on Sunday and now he’s now more... just too sudden... I just can’t believe it... prayers to the family... he made so many people laugh... may he rest in peace..."

Robo Shankar broke through in films, with the Dhanush-starrer Maari, in which he essayed the role of Sanikizhamai.

He was survived by his wife Priyanka, daughter Indraja, and one grandson. His last rites will be conducted at his house at Valasarvakkam, Chennai, on September 19.
