Karthi on Robo Shankar: A great talent gone too soon

Karthi took to social media to mourn Robo Shankar who passed away in the late hours of September 18

Actor Karthi took to social media to mourn the loss of actor-comedian Robo Shankar. Robo Shankar passed away at 08:30 pm on September 18 after battling severe health issues.

Taking to X, Karthi wrote, "It aches to see how destructive choices over time can erode health. A great talent gone too soon. My deepest condolences to his family and fans."

The comedian rose to fame with Kalakka Povadhu Yaaru, a reality TV Show that showcased standup comedians. His initial roles in films like Idharkuthane Aasaipattai Balakumara and Vaayai Moodi Pesavum led to his breakthrough in Maari (2015). His last film role was in the recently released Sotta Sotta Nenaiyuthu.

He was survived by his wife Priyanka, daughter Indraja, and one grandson. His last rites will be conducted at his house at Valasarvakkam, Chennai, on September 19.
