A day after a viral news report carried remarks reportedly said by Aamir Khan on his recent appearance in Rajinikanth's Coolie, his team has denied them.

A screenshot of a newspaper article, which was widely circulated on social media carried an article that said Aamir Khan saw no real purpose in being part of Rajinikanth's latest film Coolie, and added that it was badly written. It was quoted that he felt Coolie was a "big mistake" and he would reconsider his acting choices in the future. Now, the actor's spokesperson has clarified that he did not give any such negative comments on the film, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj.

"Mr Khan has the highest regard for Mr Rajinikanth, Mr Lokesh and in fact, the entire team of Coolie. The film has done over Rs 500 crore at the box office which speaks for itself," the spokesperson added, putting all speculations to rest.

Released on August 14, Coolie had a star studded cast featuring Nagarjuna, Rachita Ram, Upendra, Soubin Shahir, Shruti Haasan, and Sathyaraj in lead roles. Aamir Khan had a cameo appearance where he played Dahaa in the film. Pooja Hegde too made a special appearance in the song 'Monica'. The film emerged as the biggest opener for both Lokesh as well as for Rajinikanth. While reviews had been mixed, the film earned over Rs 500 crore at the end of its box office run. The film is currently streaming on Prime Video.
