On Sunday, the makers of Idli Kadai unveiled the character poster of Sathyaraj from the film. The poster introduces the actor as Vishnu Vardhan. He is seen sitting on a throne with a fully black attire and white hair, while his countenance is serious. Previously, Arun Vijay's character was introduced as a boxer named Ashwin through a poster.

Helmed by Dhanush, Idli Kadai marks his fourth directorial after Pa Paandi, Raayan, and the recently released Nilavukku Enmel Ennadi Kobam. Apart from Dhanush, Arun Vijay and Sathyaraj, the film also stars Nithya Menen, Rajkiran, Samuthirakani and Shalini Pandey, with Parthiban making a cameo appearance in the film.

Backed by Dhanush's home banner Wunderbar Films and Akash Bhaskaran's Dawn Pictures, Idli Kadai will be distributed by Red Giant Movies. On the technical front, the film will feature camera work by Kiran Koushik and editing by Prasanna GK. GV Prakash, a frequent collaborator of Dhanush, is the composer for this film.

The Idli Kadai team wrapped up filming in Bangkok this April, where crucial portions featuring the entire ensemble were shot. Though initially slated for an April 10 release, the film will now hit screens on October 1, capitalising on the Navaratri festival holidays.

On the work front, Sathyaraj was last seen in Rajinikanth's Coolie. In the pipeline, he has Karthi's Vaa Vathiyaar helmed by Nalan Kumarasamy.
