Actor Teja Sajja, who is awaiting the release of Mirai, expressed his desire to work in a Tamil film, especially with Tamil directors like Lokesh Kanagaraj and Ashwath Marimuthu. In a recent press meet, Teja stated the same, saying, "I am ready. In fact, I am meeting directors in the Tamil film industry. I have quite a lot of friends here. Ashwath Marimuthu is one of them. I have all the interest to work with leading directors here."

When probed about his interest in fantasy films like HanuMan and Mirai, Teja said, "The small kid inside me is still alive. I like watching films in the genre. I wish for these incidents to happen in real life. Since they are not possible, I try to work on these themes in my films."

Directed by Karthik Ghattamaneni, who also handles the cinematography, Mirai is touted as a high-concept action adventure that blends mythology with modern superhero tropes. In the film, a warrior is tasked with the protection nine sacred scriptures that can turn any mortal into a deity. Manchu Manoj plays the antagonist named Black Sword, who's on a quest to find them all while Shriya Saran portrays Teja's mother.

Mirai has music by Gowra Hari, who also scored for Teja's HanuMan, editing by Sreekar Prasad and production design by Nagendra Tangalla. The film's supporting cast includes Ritika Nayak, Jayaram and Jagapathi Babu. Backed by TG Vishwa Prasad and Krithi Prasad production of People Media Factory, the film is set to release on September 12 in both 2D and 3D formats across eight languages.
