On Tuesday, veteran actor Rajinikanth was shown the trailer of Mirai, the upcoming film starring Teja Sajja and Manchu Manoj in the lead roles. The Coolie actor praised the trailer and also extended his best wishes to Manchu Manoj for the upcoming Karthik Gattamneni directorial.

Mirai also stars Ritika Nayak, Shriya Saran, Jagapathi Babu, and Jayaram. The recently released trailer of the film kicks off with Teja Sajja's character being introduced with a "nothing is your own" philosophy, immediately setting the tone for what's clearly going to be an epic hero’s journey narrative. And things get interesting when we meet the antagonist, Manchu Manoj's menacing Black Sword character, who's on a quest to find nine holy books that'll make him invincible. And if he succeeds? It’s a huge threat for people.

Directed by Karthik Ghattamaneni, who also handles the cinematography, Mirai is touted as a high-concept action adventure that blends mythology with modern superhero tropes.

Mirai has music by Gowra Hari, who also scored for Teja's HanuMan, editing by Sreekar Prasad and production design by Nagendra Tangalla. The film's supporting cast includes Ritika Nayak, Jayaram and Jagapathi Babu. Backed by TG Vishwa Prasad and Krithi Prasad's production of People Media Factory, the film is set to release in both 2D and 3D formats across eight languages.

Mirai is all set to hit theatres on September 12. Meanwhile, Rajinikanth is fresh off the release of Lokesh Kanagaraj's Coolie. He is currently working on Nelson's Jailer 2
