The controversy between fashion designer Joy Crizildaa and chef Madhampatty Rangaraj has been making headlines for a while now. The latest development in the row is that Joy Crizildaa has approached the Chennai Family Welfare Court seeking a monthly maintenance allowance from Rangaraj during her pregnancy.

Joy, Madhampatty's alleged former partner, had accused him of cheating her and making her fight for her life along with the rights of her unborn child. He has been embroiled in the controversy since he married Joy earlier this year, with the latter announcing her pregnancy soon after.

Joy filed a police complaint within weeks, alleging that he abandoned her, concealed the existence of his first wife and tricked her into marrying him. She also reportedly stated that he had cheated many women like her.

Now, in her petition, Joy stated that as she is in the final month of pregnancy, she is unable to continue her fashion design work. She further mentioned that Rangaraj is the father of the child she is carrying and requested the court to order him to pay a monthly maintenance amount of Rs 6.5 lakh to cover her medical expenses, house rent, and other necessities.

The popular chef had earlier filed a civil suit restraining Joy Crizildaa from making false, malicious and defamatory statements against him in any form of media, including reels, videos, photos or captions. He also sought an interim direction to her to remove his name and content that defames him. Although the court dismissed the petition, she filed another complaint with the Tamil Nadu State Commission for Women last week.

The petition is expected to come up for hearing soon.
