Director Shankar has praised Vijay Antony's latest film Shakthi Thirumagan, written and directed by Arun Prabu of Aruvi and Vaazhl-fame. Taking to his X handle, the Game Changer filmmaker wrote that the film was "thought provoking". "The questions raised by the director were very reasonable and impressive for me. So many issues were addressed in this movie. The intensity of the content grows bigger and bigger in an unexpected way. Hats off to Arun Prabu. Kudos to Vijay Antony and the whole team," he added.

Shakthi Thirumagan, which is currently streaming on JioHotstar following its theatrical release, revolves around Kittu, who is adopted by an elderly man after his mother is mercilessly killed. As he grows older and is left to look after himself, he resolves to find his mother's killer.

Trupthi Ravindra, Krish Hassan, Vagai Chandrasekhar, Cell Murugan, and Master Keshav are also a part of the film's cast. Sunil Kripalani plays the film's antagonist. Popularly known as Kadhal Oviyam Kannan, the actor returned to the silver screen with this film after a hiatus of 42 years. Apart from being the lead actor, Vijay Antony is the music composer for the film and has also produced it under his banner. On the technical front, Shakthi Thirumagan has cinematography by Shelley Calist and editing by Raymond Derrick Crasta, both of whom have reunited with director Arun after 2021's Vaazhl.

Our CE review of the film called it a "promising political drama overpowered by preachiness". An excerpt from from our review reads, "The film shows the futility of going against the system, but still revels in its masala-heroism tag that sets up a fight between the powers that be and the powers that can be. With the movie comprising a myriad of possibilities, the way everything unfolds as a boring lecture in a post-lunch session becomes its biggest undoing."
