Filmmaker Arun Prabu, whose recent film Shakthi Thirumagan is receiving mixed to positive reviews, shared that the film, which starred Vijay Antony, was initially meant for Silambarasan TR.
In a post-release interview with Cinema Vikatan, the director confirmed the widely shared rumors on social media about a potential collaboration with Silambarasan TR. "Yes, the talks were taking place, and it was Shakthi Thirumagan. The film was supposed to be headlined by STR. But things did not materialise."
He added that the reason the collaboration did not take off was not because the actor did not like the story. "STR loved the story. In fact, after the narration, he said the story was 'blast'. I, too, made numerous narrations, and the one I did with STR was the best. Even I felt it was a 'blast' session."
The film, which marks Vijay Antony's 25th as an actor, also starred Trupthi Ravindra, Sunil Kriplani, Vaagai Chandrasekar, Master Keshav, and Cell Murugan.
An excerpt from the CE review of the film reads, "Shakthi Thirumagan takes all of this, sets the stage, and primes it for a fiery encore, only to douse it all down with a dreary and never-ending barrage of ‘lessons’."
