Ahead of Aaryan's release, Vishnu Vishal, the lead actor and producer of the project, has been going from one state to another to promote the thriller. In a recent interaction, the actor listed his favourite Malayalam movies and first in the list was Shane Nigam-Nahas Hidhayath's RDX (2023), followed by Fahadh Faasil-Jithu Madhavan's Aavesham (2024). He went on to say that he loves director-actor Basil Joseph's films including Vipin Das' Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey (2022), Nithish Sahadev's Falimy (2023), Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil (2024) and Sookshmadarshini (2024).

Vishnu later revealed that Mammootty's Kannur Squad also features in the list. "The film is something that I really got inspired looking at. In fact, some sequences in Aaryan are inspired from Kannur Squad. It was shot very well," he said, adding that he also liked Tovino Thomas' ARM.

Directed by Roby Varghese Raj, Kannur Squad was released in 2023 to critical acclaim from critics with praise for its cast performances, direction, script, and cinematography. Based on a real story, the film was also a commercial success, earning over Rs 100 crore worldwide. It also starred Azees Nedumangad, Rony David Raj, Shabareesh Varma, Kishore and Vijayaraghavan.

Aaryan is directed by Praveen K, and promises to be a gripping thriller where Vishnu Vishal dons the cop role again to nab a serial killer. But this time, there's a twist: The killer likes to challenge the cops. He discloses the name of the victim he is set to kill, exactly one hour before the crime is to take place. In recent interviews, the actor has shut down speculations and reiterated that the film is no way connected to his 2018 hit Ratsasan.

Vishnu Vishal is joined by actors Shraddha Srinath, Maanasa Choudhary, and Selvaraghavan in prominent roles in Aaryan. The film's technical crew comprises Harish Kannan as cinematographer, Ghibran as composer and editor San Lokesh. Apart from Tamil, the film is set to release in Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi. Produced by Vishnu Vishal's Vishnu Vishal Studioz, Aaryan is penned by the actor's FIR collaborator Manu Anand.

Aaryan is slated to hit theatres on October 31.
