Actor Priyamani was asked about whether she has combination scenes with Vijay in Jana Nayagan. The actor was walking out of an event in Kerala when a reporter kept asking her about it. The actor responded, saying, "You will know that when you watch the film." In order to avoid any potential spoiler, the actor again told the reporter to wait for the film to release, watch it, and figure it out on his own.

Directed by H Vinoth, Jana Nayagan marks the first collaboration between Priyamani and Vijay. The film also stars Pooja Hegde in the female lead role, alongside Bobby Deol, Narain, Prakash Raj, Mamitha Baiju, and Gautham Vasudev Menon, among others.

Venkat K Narayana is producing the film under his KVN Productions banner, alongside Lohith NK and Jagadish Palanisamy. On the technical front, it has music by Anirudh, cinematography by Sathyan Sooriyan, editing by Pradeep E Ragav, stunts by Anl Arasu, and art direction by Selvakumar.

Reportedly Vijay's swansong before his retirement for a career in politics, the film is slated for a Pongal 2026 release in theatres. Meanwhile, Priyamani also has a role in GDN, the film based on inventor GD Naidu's life.
