After a successful first week at the box office, Pradeep Ranganathan's Dude has witnessed a significant dip in box office numbers. The romantic action entertainer, which stars Mamitha Baiju as the female lead, earned Rs 56.5 crore in seven days across India and has added Rs 74 lakhs on its eighth day, according to Sacnilk. Worldwide, the film has become a massive profitable venture for the makers as it grossed Rs 100 crore a few days back and is continuing its victory streak. Mythri Movie Makers, which backed the film, recently held a grand event to mark the success of Dude.

Upon release on October 17 ahead of Diwali, the film emerged as the frontrunner in collections despite clash with Mari Selvaraj-Dhruv Vikram's Bison and Harish Kalyan's Diesel. It marked Pradeep's biggest opening in his career with over Rs 10 crore in revenue, beating his own Love Today and Dragon. With word-of-mouth reviews continuing to hold strong, revenue is expected to increase in its second week in theatres as well.

Dude also stars Rohini, Neha Shetty, and Hridhu Haroon, among others. It tells the story of cousins (Pradeep and Mamitha) who come together to set up a new event-planning business. However, when one of them get closer to the other, that person falls in love with the latter and suggests getting married, making things complicated between the two.

In our review of the film, Prashanth Vallavan wrote, "The film has a wacky infectious energy, and uses it to make hard-hitting commentary on social themes, but fails to leave a lasting impact."

Produced by Naveen Yerneni and Y Ravi Shankar under Mythri Movie Makers, the film features music by Sai Abhyankkar in his Tamil cinema debut. The rest of the crew of the film includes Niketh Bommi as the cinematographer, Barath Vikraman as the editor, Latha Naidu as the production designer, and Yannick Ben and Dinesh Subbarayan as the stunt choreographers.
