Music director MC Sabesan, also known as Sabesh, has passed away at 12:15 pm this Thursday at the age of 68. Sabesh worked alongside his brother Murali as a duo on many films. With his brother, he started his career in the late 1990s under the guidance of their older sibling, Deva, and he continued it into this decade. Some of the notable compositions by Sabesh-Murali feature in the films Goripalayam, Milaga, Thavamai Thavamirundhu, Imsai Arasan 23am Pulikesi, Pokkisham, and Koodal Nagar. Sabesh served as a playback singer as well for many songs, including his own compositions and others by his brother Deva. His songs include 'Kothal Savadi Lady' from Kannedhirey Thondrinal, featuring Deva's music, 'Otta Odasal' from Goripalayam, 'Manisha Manisha' from Ninaithen Vandhai, also featuring Deva, and 'Ore Oru Thopula' from Devathaiyai Kanden.

Sabesh-Murali stepped in to compose background music for Jodi following the film's song composer AR Rahman's unavailability. Further, they composed the background score for the films Autograph, Paarijatham, Thalaimagan, and Irumbu Kottai Murattu Singam.

Sabesh hails from a family of musicians and actors. His son Karthik Sabesh and nephew Jai are actors, whereas his other nephew Srikanth Deva is a composer, as is Murali's son Bobo Shashi. He was also Cine Musicians Union's President.

We are yet to learn further details of Sabesh's passing.
