The makers of Draupathi 2, director Mohan G Kshatriyan’s upcoming historical action drama, celebrated actor Richard Rishi’s birthday by unveiling a striking new poster from the film. The image features Rishi riding a horse, hinting at an intense and larger-than-life portrayal in the eagerly awaited sequel.
Sharing the poster on social media, director Mohan G Kshatriyan extended festive greetings and birthday wishes to his leading man, writing, “Wishing a joyous Diwali to all Indians. Team Draupathi 2 wishes Happy Birthday to our beloved hero Richard Rishi.”
The film’s shoot was wrapped up in September after an extensive production schedule that began in Mumbai and concluded in Ariyallur. Reflecting on the journey, Mohan G expressed gratitude to his producer, Chola Shakkaravarthi, for his unwavering support. “No matter how meticulously a director plans, the execution ultimately depends on the strong support of a producer,” the filmmaker said. “Although this is his maiden production, his passion for cinema and deep understanding of the art form ensured we maintained the highest standards of quality.”
Draupathi 2 features Rakshana Indusudan as the female lead, with Natty, YG Mahendran, Nadodigal Barani, Saravana Subbiah, Vel Ramamoorthy, Siraj Johnny, Dinesh Lamba, Ganesh Gaurang, Divi, Devayani Sharma, and Arunodayan in key roles.
Written by Mohan G and Padma Chandrasekhar, the sequel promises to transport audiences to 14th-century South India through a mix of grand visuals, intricate storytelling, and powerful performances. The film’s technical crew includes music composer Ghibran Vaibodha, cinematographer Philip R Sundar, editor Devaraj, art director Kamalnathan, choreographer Thanika Tony, and stunt coordinator Action Santosh.
Post-production is currently progressing swiftly, and sources close to the team suggest that Draupathi 2 is being lined up for a December release.
