Mari Selvaraj’s Bison Kaalamaadan is proving to be a strong performer at the box office, riding on glowing reviews and word of mouth. The Dhruv Vikram-led sports drama has shown consistent day-on-day growth, collecting an estimated Rs 5.65 crore on Monday and bringing its four-day India total to Rs 16.25 crore, as per Sacnilk.com’s early estimates.

Unlike most films that experience a Monday slowdown, Bison witnessed a remarkable surge of over 25 per cent compared to its opening day. The growth trend, from Rs 2.7 crore on Friday to Rs 5.65 crore on Monday, reflects the audience’s deep emotional connection with Mari Selvaraj’s storytelling and Dhruv’s performance.

With an overall Tamil occupancy of 61.74 per cent, Bison actually outperformed Dude in terms of percentage turnout, particularly in single screens across interior Tamil Nadu. Regions like Trichy (88.25 per cent), Dindigul (87.75 per cent), and Coimbatore (74 per cent) reported packed houses, underscoring the film’s growing rural and semi-urban appeal.

Although Dude continues to lead the box office by a wide margin with Rs 40 crore in four days, Bison’s trajectory shows that it’s steadily closing the gap in terms of momentum. The film’s steady rise across all days indicates that it may enjoy a longer theatrical run than expected.

Our CE review of the film read, "Bison is Mari Selvaraj’s most violent to date, and it is beautiful how the gore and bloodshed aren’t at the hands of the protagonist but everywhere around him. It is a terrific exploration of the aftermath of violence and its unsettling consequences in the minds of the young and easily influenced."

Produced by Pa Ranjith and Aditi Anand under Neelam Studios in association with Applause Entertainment, Bison also features Anupama Parameshwaran, Lal, Ameer, Pasupathi, and Rajisha Vijayan.

With positive word of mouth and a festive audience still flocking to theatres, Bison Kaalamaadan is likely to maintain its pace through the week, emerging as a critical and commercial success story for Mari Selvaraj and Dhruv Vikram.
