Actor Vishal said in a recent episode of his new podcast that he is not a fan of a group of people judging whether a film is better than other films or a performance is comparatively better and giving it an award. "It is craziness. How can a group of four decide which film or performance is the best on behalf of millions of people?" he said on Yours Frankly Vishal. The actor revealed that his opinion also applies to National Film Awards and suggested that a people's poll should be the approach towards determining awards. "I do not believe in awards, not because I did not get an award or I got one," he said before attributing his dislike for it to the selection criteria.

The actor also disclosed that he never did films with awards in mind. "If at all I win an award, I would throw it in the dustbin. Do not get me wrong," he said. The actor then added that if it is made of gold, he would sell it and use the money for charity.

Vishal recently opened his new podcast, where he said that he would only speak the truth. "Yours Frankly Vishal - No Scripts, No Filter," reads the tagline for the podcast.
