Deputy Chief Minister and former actor Udhayanidhi Stalin has shared his first review of Mari Selvaraj's latest film Bison, appreciating the director for making a "powerful film" once again that is also equally "heartwarming."
He took to his X handle to share his thoughts on the sports drama headlined by Dhruv Vikram which hits theatres worldwide on Friday. In his post, he underlined that Bison captures the journey of a young man who "places his faith in sport more than anything else, which ultimately leads him to greatness." He also heaped praise on Dhruv Vikram's acting and lauded the efforts of other cast members as well for "delivering exceptional performances, deeply understanding what the story demanded from them."
Responses from Bison's preview show has mostly been positive, with many hailing the director for bringing to light a much-needed story of Manathi Ganesan, the Arjuna award winning Kabaddi player from Tamil Nadu. They also appreciated the film's screenplay and themes.
Our CE review of the film by Avinash Ramachandran read, "Bison is a terrific exploration of the aftermath of violence and its unsettling consequences in the minds of the young and easily influenced."
Udhayanidhi and Mari Selvaraj had previously collaborated on the political action drama film Maamannan (2023) which also starred Vadivelu and Fahadh Faasil in key roles.
