Filmmaker CS Amudhan, known for his Tamizh Padam franchise, spoke highly of filmmaker Mari Selvaraj's latest film Bison Kaalamaadan.

Amudhan took to his X handle to praise the film. He wrote, "Bison is all we want from cinema. Spectacle, goosebumps, adrenaline, transportation, immersiveness & a master puppeteer pulling the strings. It’s a hark back to time-tested storytelling in rejection of mindless moments-seeking madness. Step forward Mari, the crown is now yours." (sic)

Known for directing the hilarious spoof films on Tamil cinema, Tamizh Padam (2010) and Tamizh Padam 2 (2018), Amudhan last made Vijay Antony starrer Raththam in 2023.

Bison opened to mostly positive reviews. Critics and audiences praised the movie for the inspiring story of an aspiring athlete who makes it big from his caste-violence ridden region.
