Vijay Antony's latest outing in the theatres, Shakthi Thirumagan, is gearing up for its OTT premiere. The film, helmed by Arun Prabhu, hit theatres on September 19 and opened to largely positive reviews. The film opened in theatres alongside Kavin's Kiss and Kalaiyarasan-Dinesh's Thandakaaranyam.
Shakthi Thirumagan revolves around Kittu, who is adopted by an elderly man after his mother is mercilessly killed. As he grows older and is left to look after himself, he resolves to find his mother's killer. A political action thriller, the film is set to premiere on JioHotstar on October 24.
Sunil Kripalani, Trupthi Ravindra, Krish Hassan, Vagai Chandrasekhar, Cell Murugan, and Master Keshav are also a part of the film's cast. Apart from being the lead actor, Vijay Antony is the music composer for the film and has also produced it under his banner. On the technical front, Shakthi Thirumagan has cinematography by Shelley Calist and editing by Raymond Derrick Crasta, both of whom have reunited with director Arun after 2021's Vaazhl.
An excerpt from CE's review of the film reads, "It is actually disappointing that Shakthi Thirumagan gets affected by the curious case of the abysmal second half because a lot of things go right in the first. It properly establishes the power of the people on top and how the ‘lower’ lives can scurry and thrive in their own worlds, as long as the powerful don’t train their focus on them."
