Just one day into the Bigg Boss house, and the taskmaster has already started making the competition tough. At 7.10 pm on day 1 at the Bigg Boss Tamil 9 house, VJ Parvathy read out a set of privileges for the super deluxe house members and rules for the normal Bigg Boss house members. Previously, contestants were split into two groups to live in two different parts of the house based on the badges they picked during the launch episode before their entry into the house.

The red-coloured badge was picked up by contestants, namely, Diwakar, FJ, VJ Parvathy, Kani Thiru, Kemy, Aadhirai, Viyana, Praveen Raj Dev, Apsara CJ, Vikkals Vikram, Sabarinathan and Kalaiyarasan. On the other hand, Aurora Sinclair, Tushaar, Praveen Gandhi, Ramya Joo, Gana Vinoth, Subhiksha, Nandini, and Kamrudin picked the blue badge.

The powers enjoyed by the super deluxe members are as follows. The luxury contestants are allowed to sleep for as long as they wish, and only after all of them step out of their portion of the house will the wake-up song play. Further, the eight of them need not do the chores for the house. The other 12 members are obliged to do anything and everything demanded by the super deluxe members. They were also encouraged to boast about their status while also being warned to ensure they retain it.

Meanwhile, a set of rules was clearly established for the rest of the contestants, the majority, or the Bigg Boss house members. They have to wake up as soon as an alarm goes off. They are not allowed to go to the super deluxe area. The tasks are set to be played by them, but they may or may not reap the benefits of winning a task. The majority has to do all the household chores and cater to any food needs of the super deluxe group. They're not allowed to taste anything that is made for the super deluxe members. Only when all the luxury members step out of their house can the cooking start for the day. While most of these rules were restricting, the biggest advantage for them was that the house's captain can only be nominated from that section of the house.
