Keerthy Suresh, last seen in the Telugu film Uppu Kappurambu, is currently busy promoting her upcoming film, Revolver Rita. In a recent interview with Polimer News, the actor opened up about her tryst with AI, calling it both "a boon and a bane".
Speaking about how she reacts to finding AI-generated content of herself, she said, "AI has become such a big concern today. It’s both a boon and a bane. Technology was invented by us, but now it feels like that very technology is starting to overpower us. I sometimes come across social media posts featuring my face, and I actually pause to think, ‘When did I wear that outfit?’—only to later realise the post is AI-generated. That’s how real it looks."
Further, she recalled a recent haunting incident, which left her scared. "Recently, I saw an image of me striking an unflattering pose in an outfit I had worn at an event, and I wondered when I had ever posed like that. Eventually, it dawned on me that it wasn’t me at all. It’s extremely irritating. I honestly don’t know where we’re heading with this AI trend or what people gain by creating such edits. It definitely hurts me and my family to see AI-edited or fully generated versions of me circulating online," she explained.
Keerthy Suresh concluded by calling AI a risk. "I even came across photos of Sam (Samantha) and me that looked so real, as if we had actually posed together, when in fact they were AI creations. Sometimes I send such reels to my husband, and he immediately points out that they’re AI-generated. We are reaching a point where we simply cannot trust everything we see—and that’s scary."
Revolver Rita is helmed by JK Chandru, who previously directed Naveena Saraswathi Sabatham. The film is produced by Sudhan Sundaram and Jagadish Palanisamy under their Passion Studios and The Route banners, respectively.
The cast of the film includes Radikaa Sarathkumar, Super Subbarayan, Sunil, Ajay Ghosh, Redin Kingsley, John Vijay, Kalyan, Suresh Chakravarthy, Kathiravan, Sendrayan, Augustin, Blade Shankar, Ramachandran, Akshatha Ajith, Kuhasini, and Gayatri Shan.
The crew of the film includes Dinesh Krishnan B as the director of photography, Praveen KL as the editor, MKT as the art director, and Dhilip Subburayan as the stunt choreographer. Revolver Rita is all set to hit theatres on November 28.
Meanwhile, Keerthy Suresh also has Kannivedi, a film with Mysskin and Thottam, in the pipeline. Recently, she was officially appointed as UNICEF India’s Celebrity Advocate, especially for child rights.
