Harish Kalyan's Deepavali release, Diesel, is all set to premiere on OTT this week. It hit theatres on October 17 alongside Pradeep Ranganathan's Dude and Dhruv Vikram's Bison. The film, helmed by Shanmugham Muthusamy, opened to mixed reviews upon release.

Also starring Athulyaa Ravi as the female lead, Diesel revolves around a driven and determined young man who is forced to confront ruthless and corrupt authorities after becoming ensnared in the dangerous web of the diesel mafia. Also a part of the film's cast are Vinay Rai, Sai Kumar, Ananya, Karunaas, Bose Venkat, Ramesh Thilak, Kaali Venkat, Vivek Prasanna, Sachin Khedekar, Zakir Hussain, Thangadurai, Maaran, KPY Dheena, and Apoorva Singh, among others.

Diesel is all set to premiere on Sun NXT and Aha on November 21. While Dude premiered last Friday on Netflix, Bison is also set to have its OTT premiere alongside Diesel on JioHotstar this Friday.

An excerpt from CE's review of Diesel reads, "Shanmugam Muthusamy deserves praise for his extensive research on this complex issue. That being said, how much of his research was sacrificed at the altar of commercial cinema is a different thing altogether. It is always nice to see filmmakers come up with well-researched films instead of disguising lazy writing as cinematic liberties."

On the technical front, the film has music composed by Dhibu Ninan Thomas, cinematography handled by MS Prabhu and Richard M Nathan, and editing by San Lokesh.
