Sai Abhyankkar is having an eventful year with multiple film releases and independent single releases. The composer made his feature film debut with the Malayalam film Balti and made his Tamil debut with Dude.
Speaking about the road ahead in an interview with Galatta Plus, the composer said, "I am working on two films right now, one is set in the 60s (Marshal) and another in the 80s (Balaji Tharaneetharan and Vijay Sethupathi's upcoming collaboration). So I am travelling to those times, even in terms of recording techniques."
Speaking about Balaji Tharaneetharan, Sai said, "I have been a very very huge fan of him. That was also the first time I met Atlee (who serves as a producer on Balaji Tharaneetharan's film."
Marshal is directed by actor-director Tamizh, who made his directorial debut with Taanakkaran, and has acted in films like Asuran and Viduthalai: Part-1 and Viduthalai: Part-2.
Speaking about Marshal, the composer said, "Marshal is a very interesting subject and people are going to love it, for sure. For that film I had to compose a piece for the current generation which has its roots in the 60s. So interpreting time is what I have done for this."
