KVN Productions, the banner behind Vijay's final film Jana Nayagan, dropped the film's first single a while ago. Titled 'Thalapathy kacheri', the song is a peppy and energetic number featuring Vijay showing off some graceful moves. It is composed by Anirudh and has the vocals by the music director himself, alongside Vijay and lyricist Arivu. Pooja Hegde also shakes a leg to the lyrics by Arivu alongside Vijay.

The song's title seems like a nod to Vijay's nickname among fans, just like how the film's title itself, meaning "People's Leader", alludes to his retirement from acting for a full-time political career. The lyrics further highlight this meta reference, and the song's video also pays tribute to some of Vijay's most popular films, such as Ghilli, Thuppakki, and Theri, among others.

As the songs ends, Anirudh requests Vijay to pull off his dance move one last time, as the scene cuts to a visual of the actor on a theatre screen with a piece of text that reads "Blastu Blastu". The makers appear to be referring to the trend of Vijay's single-shot dance towards the end of his songs, which fans usually celebrate in theatres. Within 15 minutes of its release, the song has garnered over 5 lakh views on YouTube—a number that is sure to grow over time.

Jana Nayagan reunites Vijay with his Beast co-star Pooja Hegde. Prakash Raj, Priyamani, Bobby Deol, Mamitha Baiju, Gautham Vasudev Menon, and Narain are also part of the ensemble cast.

Venkat K Narayana is producing the film through his label KVN Productions, alongside Jagadish Palanisamy and Lohith NK who serve as co-producers. The film's technical team also includes cinematographer Sathyan Sooryan, editor Pradeep E Ragav, and stunt choreographer Anl Arasu.

Billed as a political actioner, the Vijay starrer is scheduled to hit theatres on January 09, 2026, coinciding with the Pongal festival. Meanwhile, you can watch the Jana Nayagan first single right here:
