Music composer Ghibran Vaibodha is fresh off the release of his latest film as composer, Vishnu Vishal's Aaryan. At the film's Thanksgiving meet, the musician was asked about his consistent collaboration with director H Vinoth, who has chosen Anirudh Ravichander over him for Vijay's Jana Nayagan.
Ghibran has composed music for three of H Vinoth's directorial out of six, including Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru, Valimai and Thunivu. When asked about not being approached for Jana Nayagan, Ghibran said to a media house, "This is not to be sensationalised. There is no obligation for H Vinoth or any other director to pick me just because we've collaborated in the past. Every composer brings a different flavour to a film, and a director has to decide which composer will bring the right flavour for his vision."
Jana Nayagan marks Vinoth's first collaboration with Anirudh Ravichander. The filmmaker has previously also worked with Yuvan Shankar Raja and Sean Roldan. The film marks Vijay's swansong in cinema before his full-fledged political stint.
Jana Nayagan is said to revolve around Vijay’s role as a police officer, with Pooja Hegde and Bobby Deol essaying pivotal roles. The ensemble cast further features Gautham Vasudev Menon, Prakash Raj, Narain, Priyamani,Mamitha Baiju, and others. Interestingly, speculation is also rife about cameo appearances by directors Atlee, Nelson Dilipkumar, and Lokesh Kanagaraj, though nothing has been confirmed.
As Jana Nayagan prepares for its Pongal 2026 release on January 9, it is set for a clash at the box office with Sivakarthikeyan’s period drama Parasakthi, directed by Sudha Kongara, which hits screens on January 14, 2026.
Meanwhile, Ghibran is awaiting the release of Others this week, starring Gouri Kishan, Anju Kurian and debutant Aditya Madhavan in lead roles. The film, helmed by Abin Hariharan, is scheduled to hit theatres on November 7.
