The title of director Suresh Krissna's next film has been revealed to be Anantha. The first poster from the film reveals that the film is about spiritual leader Sathya Sai Baba.

Apart from Anantha Suresh Krissna is also directing Charukesi, which is his first feature directorial after 2012's Katari Veera Surasundarangi. Anantha will be produced by Girish Krishnamurthy, with Kavin KR and Chidambaram M serving as executive producers. Inner View is the banner backing the film.

Jagapathi Babu leads the cast of Ananthu. The cast of the film also includes Suhasini Mani Ratnam and YG Madhuvanti.

Music for Ananthu will be done by veteran composer Deva, from lyrics by Pa Vijay, in Tamil, and Ramajogayya Sastry, in Telugu. Pa Vijay is also writing the Tamil dialogues for the film, and Dr P Rajendra Kumar is writing the Telugu dialogues. The crew of the film includes Sanjay BL as the director of photography, S Richard as the editor, and Vasudhevan as the art director.
