Trisha has reunited with Kamal Haasan in Mani Ratnam’s upcoming directorial, Thug Life. The collaboration is happening 10 years after they previously starred together in Thoongaa Vanam. Before that, the two also worked together in Manmadan Ambu (2010).

At present, both Trisha and Kamal Haasan are busy promoting their upcoming film, which marks Trisha's fourth collaboration with Mani Ratnam. The videos of their promotions and interviews have been making the rounds on the internet and remind us of the camaraderie they’ve shared over the years. In fact, in 2013, Trisha even credited Kamal Haasan for motivating her to dub in her own voice for her roles.

Prior to the release of Samar, co-starring Vishal and directed by Thiru, Trisha took to her Twitter handle (now X) to say, “Kamal Sir is the reason I am motivated to dub for all my films. He trained and corrected me every single day when I dubbed for Manmadan Anbu. 1000 thanks!” (sic)

Some of the films for which Trisha dubbed for her own character include Mankatha, Manmadan Ambu, Samar and Mani Ratnam’s own Aayitha Ezhuthu. It is still unclear if she has dubbed for her character in the upcoming film.

Apart from Kamal Haasan and Trisha, Thug Life also stars Silambarasan, Abhirami, Ashok Selvan, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Nassar, Joju George, Mahesh Manjrekar, Tanikella Bharani, Vadivukkarasi, Chinni Jayanth, Vaiyapuri, Bagavathi Perumal, Baburaj, Ali Fazal, Rohit Saraf, Arjun Chidambaram, Chetan, and Rajashri Deshpande.

Thug Life marks Mani Ratnam and Kamal Haasan's reunion after 36 years since their hit outing, Nayakan. The technical crew of Thug Life features cinematographer Ravi K Chandran, music director AR Rahman, editor Sreekar Prasad and action directors Anbariv. The film is a co-production between Udhayanidhi's Red Giant Movies, Kamal Haasan's Raaj Kamal Film International, and Mani Ratnam's Madras Talkies.

Thug Life is all set to hit theatres on June 5.
