For Mani Ratnam-Kamal Haasan's Thug Life, Academy award winner AR Rahman has recorded a track with Sneha Shankar. The singer is known for her stint in popular musical reality shows such as Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Lil Champs, Superstar Singer and Indian Idol Season 15.

Sneha is all set to make her debut as a playback singer with Thug Life, under the guidance of Rahman. ”It feels like a dream to be singing for AR Rahman sir in his musical, a name I’ve looked up to since I first understood music,” said Sneha, as per a report on IANS.

Daughter of renowned music director Ram Shankar and granddaughter of the legendary Shree Shankarji (of the iconic Shankar-Shambhu duo), Sneha makes her debut with a big-scale film at the age of 19. “To lend my voice to a Mani Ratnam film is beyond anything I ever imagined. I am overwhelmed, grateful, and deeply humbled. This is a blessing,” she added.

Apart from Kamal Haasan, Thug Life also stars Silambarasan, Trisha, Ashok Selvan, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Joju George, Abhirami, Nassar, Mahesh Manjrekar, Tanikella Bharani, Vadivukkarasi, Chinni Jayanth, Vaiyapuri, Bagavathi Perumal, Baburaj, Ali Fazal, Rohit Saraf, Arjun Chidambaram, Chetan, and Rajashri Deshpande.

Thug Life marks Mani Ratnam and Kamal Haasan's reunion after 36 years since their hit outing, Nayakan. The technical crew of Thug Life features cinematographer Ravi K Chandran, music director AR Rahman, editor Sreekar Prasad and action directors Anbariv. The film is a co-production between Udhayanidhi's Red Giant Movies, Kamal Haasan's Raaj Kamal Film International, and Mani Ratnam's Madras Talkies.

Thug Life is all set to hit theatres on June 5.
