Unni Mukundan, who shared the screen with Soori in last year's Garudan, has praised Soori's selflessness at a promotional event for the latter's latest film Maaman. "When I was thinking about how to promote Marco, with the film releasing in Malayalam and Hindi, I got a video message from Soori urging people to watch 'my brother' Unni's film in Tamil. I never asked Soori sir to do that. I must say this, nobody has done something like this for me in my entire life. You did it for me, and I cannot forget it," said Unni Mukundan.

The actor, last seen in this year's Get-Set Baby, has multiple projects at various stages of production. One of these is the long-gestated Mindiyum Paranjum, opposite Aparna Balamurali. He is also set to make his directorial debut with a superhero film alongside screenwriter Midhun Manuel Thomas.

On the other hand, Soori has Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai, alongside director Ram and co-star Nivin Pauly, and Mandaadi next.
