The theatrical run of Gajaana, a mythological thriller starring Vedhika and Inigo Prabhakar, has been put on hold shortly after its May 9 release. Citing “the ongoing national situation and rising security concerns”, the makers have announced a temporary suspension of screenings across Tamil Nadu.
In an official statement, producers Four Square Studios and Lyon Globus emphasised that the decision was made with public safety in mind. “The safety and well-being of our audience are far more important than any celebration,” the team wrote, also expressing solidarity with India’s armed forces during this critical time.
The team assured fans that Gajaana will return to theatres at a more appropriate time. “We hope the film finds its place in your hearts when the time is right,” they concluded.
Directed by Prabadish Samz and co-directed by Vihas Nagaraj, Gajaana features an ensemble cast including Chandni, Hareesh Peradi, Pratap Pothan, Yogi Babu, and Velu Prabhakaran. Achu Rajamani has composed the music, with cinematography by Gopi Duraisamy and Vinod JP, and VFX by Greenscar VFX.
