Actor-comedian Bagavathi Perumal, who earned nationwide recognition with his role as the sinister police officer Berlin in Thiagarajan Kumararaja's Super Deluxe (2019), is ready to don the villain hat again.

In an exclusive interview with Cinema Express, following his successes with Sundar C's Gangers and Sasikumar's Tourist Family, Bagavathi revealed that he is working on a film titled Double Occupancy where he is set to play a villain after six years. When asked why he has not explored playing a character like Berlin after Super Deluxe, he said, "I miss playing such a role. Perhaps directors feel it I cannot pull off such a character again. I myself feel so as it was a one-of-a-kind well-written and directed character. Fortunately, I am once again donning a villain role in the upcoming film Double Occupancy, produced by Avantika Sundar."

Sundar C and Khushbu Sundar's daughter Avantika Sundar is an aspiring actor who went to acting school in London. More details about the project are yet to be disclosed. Moreover, an official announcement regarding the project itself is awaited. It is also not known if the film will fall under the Avni Cinemax banner, which produced the Aranmanai films and is bankrolling the upcoming Mookuthi Amman 2, directed by Sundar C.

In the interview, Bagavathi further went on to confirm his presence in Nelson Dilipkumar's much-anticipated Jailer 2, headlined by Rajinikanth. Up next, he awaits the release of Mani Ratnam-Kamal Haasan's biggie Thug Life, which also stars Silambarasan TR in the lead along with an ensemble cast consisting of Trisha, Abhirami, Ashok Selvan, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Joju George, and Nassar, among others.
