A couple of days after singer Kalpana Raghavendar was hospitalised due to reportedly attempts to end life, she has come out with a clarification denying the same.
The singer and reality show judge was hospitalised in her Hyderabad residence on March 4, after she was found unconscious.
In a video address, Kalpana said that she did not attempt suicide as reported in media outlets, but she took an increased dosage of tablets due to lack of sleep. She said that she had difficulty getting sleep as she was active both as a singer and also pursuing education. "The drug overdose made me fall unconscious, and I didn't know what happened after that," she added.
She also dismissed rumours of marital strain with her husband and director Prasad Prabhakar. "I have a God-gifted husband, Prasad Prabhakar, and a daughter. The drug overdose severely affected my lungs. If I am alive today, it is because of the timely response of my husband once he came to know I was unconscious," she said.
Kalpana's clarification comes a day after her daughter addressed the press, saying that theirs is a happy family and there are no family problems.
