After the sequel to Bharath's cop thriller Kaalidas was officially launched in mid-2024, the makers of the film shared an update about the first look on Thursday.

It was announced that Kaalidas 2's first look will be launched on March 8. The original film, which was released in 2019, is a grounded police procedural.

In an earlier conversation with CE, the film's director Sri Senthil said, "Part two will have a lot more action sequences to offer in comparison to the first part. Not a single moment in it will be over the top. A grounded and realistic cop thriller was the aspect that made Kaalidas unique. So I will never change that approach." Further talking about the commonalities both the films share, he said, "Though there are a few incidents that connect the first and second films, the subject dealt with in the sequel is completely independent from the first film."

Also starring with Bharath are Bhavani Sre and Abarnathi, with actor Ajay Karthi playing a key role in the film.

On the technical team, the film will have music by Sam CS, cinematography by Suresh Bala, and editing by Bhuvan Srinivasan. Kaalidas 2 is produced by K Senthil and N Yogeshwaran.
