Filmmaker Sudha Kongara has showered the latest film DNA with effusive praise. Taking to X, the director wrote, "Just saw a little gem of a film." The filmmaker then praised writer-director Nelson Venkatesan's writing for the film, starring Atharvaa and Nimisha Sajayan in the lead roles. She also praised the performances by the lead cast as well as Balaji Sakthivel, Chetan, and an old woman who plays a key role in the film. She concluded her note, saying how the film impacted her emotionally: "Teared up and cheered with the audiences."

DNA follows a young mother with borderline personality disorder (Nimisha) and her husband's (Atharvaa) search for their missing child. In our review of the film Avinash Ramachandran wrote, "Nelson lets go of his strong suit of relationship drama to put on an armour of investigative thriller, and is unable to balance both with the required panache."

Sudha Kongara last directed 2024's Sarfira, starring Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, and Radhika Madan. It is a remake of Sudha's own film Soorarai Pottru, starring Suriya, Aparna Balamurali, and Paresh Rawal. Her upcoming project is Parasakthi, starring Sivakarthikeyan, Ravi Mohan, Atharvaa, and Sreeleela.
