Fresh off the success of Maargan, Vijay Antony has dived back into work. The actor is currently filming for Lawyer, a courtroom drama helmed by Gentlewoman director Joshua Sethuraman. In a recent interview with the Times of India, the actor has opened up about the project.

Vijay Antony, who is also the producer and music composer of Lawyer, has said that he approached Joshua after watching Gentlewoman. “I asked him whether he had any films in hand for me. He came to meet me the very next day, and the project was ‘on.’ I got emotional when Joshua narrated the film’s script (which is an emotional commercial story) to me.” Vijay, who was impressed with his thought process, decided to produce the film too. “We then started the film’s shoot within two-and-a-half months,” he added.

Lawyer will also star Raveena Tandon in a prominent role, along with Anumol and VTV Ganesh. The Andaz Apna Apna actor is diving head-on with back-to-back Tamil projects after a two-decade-long hiatus. Recently, Raveena had also onboarded the Suriya 46 cast. Directed by Venky Atluri, she will star along with Mamitha Baiju and Radikaa Sarathkumar. Notably, Raveena was last seen in Kamal Haasan's Aalavandhan (2001).

Apart from Tamil, Lawyer will also be made in Hindi, Telugu, and Kannada. The film is backed by Vijay Antony Film Corporation. Meanwhile, Vijay Antony also has Shakthi Thirumugan, Valli Mayil, Agni Siragugal, and Khakhee in the pipeline.

Lawyer marks Joshua Sethuraman's sophomore directorial after Gentlewoman, released earlier this year. Starring Lijomol Jose and Losliya in lead roles, the film was critically well-received by the audience.
