Actor Sivakumar remembered his contemporary Saroja Devi, due to her passing in the early hours of July 14. The actor said, "The only opportunity I got to act with her was in KS Gopalakrishnan's Panama Pasama (1968). But unfortunately those scenes were cut from the film."

He added, "Unlike a lot of people, Saroja Devi was able to live well until her last days. May her soul rest in peace."

Panama Paasama also starred Gemini Ganesan, Nagesh, K Sarangapani, VS Raghavan, S Varalakshmi, Vijaya Nirmala, and Sundari Bai, amongst others.

Making her debut with the Kannada film, Mahakavi Kalidasa, Saroja Devi went on to act in films like Thangamalai Ragasiyam (1957), Panduranga Mahatyam (1958), Nadodi Mannan (1960), Iruvar Ullam (1963), Thaimel Aanai (1988), and Parambariyam (1993), with Aadhavan (2009), being her last starring role.
