We had previously reported that actors Saravanan and Namritha RV are set to headline a web series titled Sattamum Needhiyum for Zee5. The makers have now released the trailer for the series which hints at an intense legal drama about an underdog lawyer who strives to bring justice to an underprivileged man and his abducted daughter.

Described as a "gripping tale of power, justice, and redemption", Saravanan stars as a notary lawyer who barely steps into the courtroom as he doesn't get cases. He is ridiculed by his peers until one day he sees a man self immolating in front of the court as a result of police and lawyers not being able to help find his abducted daughter. Saravanan takes up the case along with Namritha who joins him as his junior.

The show, which is set to debut on Zee5 platform on July 18, coincides with the actor's 35th year in the film industry. The series is directed by debutant Balaji Selvaraj while Sooriyaprathap S serves as the writer and showrunner.

Apart from Saravanan and Namritha, the series also stars Aroul D Shankar, Shanmugham, Thiruselvam, Vijayashree and Iniya Ram in prominent roles.

Namritha MV started her career as a model and worked in many TV commercials. Prior to Sattamum Needhiyum, she starred in two other web series Memeboys (2022) for SonyLiv and Oru Kodai Murder Mystery (2023) for Zee5. She also acted in two Malayalam films Vela (2023) and Pushpaka Vimanam (2024). This upcoming series marks her first time in a lead role.

According to the makers, Sattamum Needhiyum is a story about "the voice of the voiceless." The show aims to capture what happens when an ordinary citizen stands up against a powerful system — not just for themselves, but for another silenced soul. The series promises an emotionally charged, suspense-filled courtroom narrative that keeps audiences engaged from start to finish.

On the technical team, Sattamum Needhiyum has music by Vibin Baskar, cinematography by S Gokulakrishnan and Bhavna Govardhan, and editing by Raavanan. The series is backed by Sasikala Prabhakaran under the banner 18 creators.
