Actor Saravanan is set to make his comeback as a lead hero after 15 years in an upcoming web series titled Sattamum Neethiyum. The show, which is set to debut on Zee5 platform on July 18, coincides with the actor's 35th year in the film industry. The series is directed by debutant Balaji Selvaraj, and produced by Sasikala Prabhakaran under the banner 18 creators.
The actor who debuted in films in 1991, is well known for his supporting roles he plays in Tamil films. This year, he starred in Kuzhanthaigal Munnetra Kazhagam, directed by the late Shankar Dayal and also played a prominent role in the web series Suzhal: The Vortex season 2, created by Pushkar-Gayatri.
Starring alongside him is Namritha MV, who started her career as a model and worked in many TV commercials. Prior to Sattamum Neethiyum, she starred in two other web series Memeboys (2022) for SonyLiv and Oru Kodai Murder Mystery (2023) for Zee5. She also acted in two Malayalam films Vela (2023) and Pushpaka Vimanam (2024). This upcoming series marks her first time in a lead role.
Speaking at the event, the ZEE5 South Content Head Kaushik Narashiman said, “Zee5 has always backed bold, original stories that reflect the realities of our society. With Sattamum Neethiyum, we explore justice, conscience, and courage in a way that’s raw, rooted, and deeply relatable.”
According to the makers, Sattamum Neethiyum is a story about "the voice of the voiceless." The show aims to capture what happens when an ordinary citizen stands up against a powerful system — not just for themselves, but for another silenced soul. The series promises an emotionally charged, suspense-filled courtroom narrative that keeps audiences engaged from start to finish.
