The release of Sasikumar's upcoming drama, Freedom, has been postponed from its original release date of July 10. Sasikumar told CE that the film will release theatrically on July 11. According to speculation the postponement was due to the some financial issues faced by the makers.

After Tourist Family, Sasikumar portrays another Sri Lankan refugee, trying to escape his circumstances. The film was released on May 1.

The cast of Freedom includes Lijomol Jose, Malavika Avinash, Bose Venkat, Ramesh Khanna, Sudev Nair, and 'Boys' Manikandan.

Written and directed by Sathyasiva, the music for Freedom is done by Ghibran, with lyrics by Snehan, Mohan Rajan, and Arun Bharathi.
