Director Ganesh K Babu, known for his unique storytelling approach, is set to present a fresh take on political narratives with his upcoming film Karathey Babu, starring Ravi Mohan. The film is described as a realistic political thriller that delves into the lesser-seen personal side of an MLA.

The film stars Daudee Jiwal, daughter of Tamil Nadu DGP Shankar Jiwal, as the female lead.

Backed by Screen Scene Media Entertainment Private Limited, Karathey Babu marks the production house’s third collaboration with Ravi Mohan after Agilan and Brother.

Speaking about the film, director Ganesh K Babu shared with IANS, “While there have been many films revolving around politicians, their personal lives, emotions, and relationships have not been explored much on screen. This film will showcase a different dimension of an MLA, blending realism with strong emotions.”

On his experience working with Ravi Mohan, he added, “We are making this film with ease and without any pressure, thanks to Ravi Mohan’s complete cooperation and dedication. It’s been a fulfilling experience directing this project.”

The first schedule of filming, which began recently, is now nearing completion, with shooting taking place in multiple locations.

Produced by Sundar Arumugam on a grand scale, Karathey Babu boasts an ensemble cast featuring veteran actors such as K S Ravikumar, Nasser, VTV Ganesh, and Subramaniam Siva, alongside Kavithalaya Krishnan, Pradeep Antony, Raja Rani Pandiyan, Ilan, Sam Anderson, Sri Dhanya, Sandeep Ravi Raj, Ananthi, Sindhu Priya, Ajith Ghosh, Kalki Raja, Knife Naren, Vetri, Aravind, Dharmaraj, Nandhini Senthamizhan, Jeeva Subramaniam, and Manimegala.

The film’s music is composed by Sam C.S., with cinematography handled by Ezhil Arasu K. Editing responsibilities are undertaken by Kathiresh Alagesan, while the screenplay has been co-written by Rathna Kumar and Bakkiyam Sankar.
