Ajith is not out of the race; he is only out of one category: Sources

This development follows the injury he suffered during a training session a couple of days ago

Akshay Kumar

After rumours circulated in social media that actor Ajith Kumar was asked to step out due to the injuries he sustained during the training session, a clarification was made that he is only out of one category.

Sources close to the actor told Cinema Express exclusively that the press note has been misunderstood and that Ajith has stepped out of the race, but he will not be a part of just one category. However, he will serve as the owner of Ajith Kumar Racing by Bas Koeten in the Porsche 992 Cup Car (Number 901) and will compete as the driver for Ajith Kumar Racing by Razoon in the Porsche Cayman GT4 (Number 414) in the event.

This development follows the injury he suffered during a training session a couple of days ago.

On Friday, he said he would not enter into any film commitments till September this year and will sign new films and act only from October to March.

The actor's racing team, Ajith Kumar Racing, comprises Mathieu Detry, Fabian Duffieux, and Cameron McLeod. Duffieux is the team's manager. The race is being live streamed on YouTube.

On the work front, he has Adhik Ravichandran's Good Bad Ugly slated for release on April 10 and Magizh Thirumeni's Vidaamuyarchi, which was initially scheduled for a Pongal festival release but is now awaiting a new release date.
