Here is an opportunity for Vijay fans to spend the New Year with their favourite 'Thalapathy'. A while ago, Kamala Cinemas announced that it would screen the actor's 2014 film Kaththi from 10:45 pm on New Year's Eve. Vishnu Kamal, who owns the theatre, announced the news on X, captioning the post, "We’re starting 2026 New Year with Thalapathy at Kamala Cinemas. Booking open now for Kaththi at RGB Laser Kamala Main Screen for just INR 99. New Year. Thalapathy. Mass begins."

The film will be screened with a 4K RGB Laser print. The moment the theatre owner announced the news, fans have been asking for another show, a morning show, for the film on New Year's Day.

The AR Murugadoss directorial stars Vijay in multiple roles, including one as a convict who gets out of jail. The film is best remembered for its one-liners and action sequences, especially one where Vijay's character uses a coin to fight a gang of goons.

Fans have been responding to Vijay's confirmation of his retirement from acting at the recent Jana Nayagan audio launch. From actors to fans association members, everyone has been sharing the actor's stills from the audio launch on their Instagram Stories over the last few days.

As reported earlier, Vijay's final film, Jana Nayagan, directed by H Vinoth, is set to hit theatres on January 09 next year. The film also stars Pooja Hegde, Mamitha Baiju, Bobby Deol, Prakash Raj, and Nasser, among others.
